THE TAPPEINER PATH
The Tappeiner path starts in Gratsch and ends at Zenoberg, where it merges into the Gilfpromenade. The path runs along the slopes of the Küchelberg, 80 meters above the city of Merano.
Embedded in the local flora, you will encounter beautiful exotic vegetation that thrives in the subtropical and Mediterranean climate. Around one hundred species are introduced to visitors through plaques, allowing you to take a journey to distant lands, even though you are just a stone's throw away from the Dolomites. From the terrace around the Powder Tower, a medieval fortress, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city of Merano. Your sense of smell will be particularly stimulated along this path. Of special interest are the herb garden and the garden of scents, a terrace that, among other things, features an extraordinary specimen of California Bay Laurel, a type of laurel rarely found in these latitudes, known for its particularly intense aroma.

THE GARDENS OF TRAUTTMANSDORF CASTLE
Where nature and art meet in a special way: Since 2001, the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle near Merano have showcased over 80 garden landscapes from around the world, with numerous unique experience stations (ten artist pavilions, a spectacular observation platform by Matteo Thun, a "Botanical Underworld," and a "Garden for Lovers").
Due to its exceptional appearance and impressive design, the facility was named Italy's most beautiful garden in 2005 and "Europe's Garden No. 6" in 2006. In 2013, it was crowned "International Garden of the Year," earning it a place among the most beautiful green spaces worldwide.

THE WINE TRAIL IN TIROLO
A particularly special themed trail is the Wine Trail of Tirolo. Winding its way through vineyards and Mediterranean vegetation, this family-friendly path offers a leisurely stroll through the sunny landscape above the rooftops of Merano, providing fascinating insights into local viticulture. Along the way, various stations creatively package small portions of wine knowledge, stories, and history. The view stretches across the Merano region, the surrounding mountains, and the castles of Dorf Tirol. Afterward, you can reflect on the impressions of the trail while enjoying a glass of Vernatsch or Merlot.

TREKKING & E-BIKE
By bike, South Tyrol can be explored at the perfect pace. On well-maintained valley cycle paths, you can enjoy the landscape and the region's culinary delights. If desired, you can easily return to your starting point by train. To the west, cyclists ride along the historic Roman road Via Claudia Augusta, from the Reschen Pass to Salurn. On the Pustertal cycling route in the east of South Tyrol, passing by the Kronplatz, the landscape becomes more alpine, and from north to south, the historic towns of Sterzing, Brixen, and Klausen along the Brenner Cycle Route invite you to make a stop.
